I've been reading a bunch of entries about how it's not possible to play videos from the HD Flip camcorder natively on the iPad.
Contrary to all that information, I managed to get them to play natively on the iPad without conversion by getting them onto the iPad both via GoodReader, and via Dropbox. Both of these iPad applications will play the Flip HD videos with no problems in their original format.
So why is it that I can't get them to sync via iTunes and play via the "Videos" application? If GoodReader and Dropbox can do it, shouldn't Apple's own app be able to do it?
Followup question – I can't get the videos out of the GoodReader or Dropbox applications once they are on the iPad. Meaning – I'd like to send them over to ReelDirector for editing, but the link is not presented to me. I sent a note to ReelDirector support, but they claim that they can't process the video. So again – if GoodRead and Dropbox can play them – why can't ReelDirector?
Admittedly, it is an older Flip. It is a Mino HD – model F460C. Not sure if that matters.
Any answers or ideas people have – I'd love to hear. Please feel free to comment.
