Fourteen hours in the air certainly is not the best thing in the world, but I'm pretty sure it will be totally worth it. … We went to the Steelhead Brewery last night for his birthday dinner (great short ribs stew), and today we went out to Half Moon Bay and Sam's Chowder House for lunch.

Even though we haven't had a problem on previous trips wrapping up bottles in dirty laundry, I've been reading that the airlines are getting to be more and more concerned with how people are packing liquids that could break and stain other people's luggage. … As long as we don't run into anybody that doesn't know the rules, we should hopefully get sixteen good bottles back with us.
