I thought these two came out pretty good, so I figured I'd toss them up there for general consumption. These were both taken from the Right Field Roof Deck at Fenway Park. Christy and I took our Dads there for a belated Father's Day present, and got to see the Sox beat the Texas Rangers. Jon Lester was pretty solid that night. And the RFRD seats are pretty sweet.

The kitchen remodel project has officially begun. We have now donked off thousands of dollars to have our contractor come in and tear out everything in the kitchen. And I do mean everything. Walls are going. Beams are being replaced. Every appliance is being replaced. Floors are gone. We are also getting the bathroom re-tiled, new doors for the laundry closet, a new pantry, a new sliding door, a new set of french doors, and a whole bunch of new windows.
Living there is tough. And we have another 7 weeks or so to go. All our stuff from the kitchen is piled up in the living room, and our temporary kitchen is down on the wet bar in the basement. Pretty much everything in the house is covered in a fine layer of sawdust from all the construction. And of course, I haven't even gotten close to finishing our bathroom project upstairs, so that's still a mess.
And poor Nik is in a constant state of panic. She is stuck in the basement all day and is pretty much scared silly by all the noise going on upstairs. But she will have nice new tile to lay on in a few weeks.
Next steps are replacing the beam in the kitchen, and finishing up the electrical and plumbing before inspection.

About a week ago, I finally got back to driving a fun car. Not to say that the Expedition isn't a great vehicle, but ever since I got rid of my Mustang, I've missed driving a fast stick shift. So we went out and bought a 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX. It's a great drive. And before you ask, no, it' not an STi, and I didn't test drive the STi, because I was pretty sure if I test drove that, I'd want it, and with the economy in the toilet, it just didn't make sense to donk off an extra $12K. But I'm sure I'll still be able to get in a heap of trouble with the straight WRX. It's the first turbo vehicle I've owned, and I am in love with the silly little boost at about 2500-3000 RPM.
I got myself a new radar detector, and I was so cised to try it out that I took the car out for a late night cruise on I-495 looking for cops. Managed to find one, and managed not to get pulled over, so I guess the thing is doing it's job.
I took a few shots of the car yesterday and played around with Photomatix and Photoshop to produce the one shown above. This is one of those times where one of my own photos gives me a stiffy, and I'm quite proud of that one. Click on it to go to my Flickr account and see the rest of the photos there.

How the hell did I miss this? Somebody has got to be a little more proactive in notifying me about major national events like this.

My pics of Heidi Watney from the Sox / Orioles game last month are getting some coverage on the blogosphere. They got picked up by "Busted Coverage: Booze, Ladies And Football" in a poll to decide if Heidi Watney or Erin Andrews is hotter. I'm pleased to have been picked up by such a high end journalistic endeavor such as Busted Coverage. Thanks guys!
And of course – in my opinion – Heidi Watney is way hotter than Erin Andrews. Wicked hot as it were. But either way – more girls should be wearing dresses like these two. Silly…

Work's been tough lately – and I'm starting to think that what Brent needs (in addition to his new car) is a wife that adequately reflects his status: a stay-at-home wife. That's right. No kids. No job. I'd take care of the house and yard, coordinate the kitchen remodel, and basically make his life as easy as possible.
Actually, we've been discussing this idea for years – but we can't seem to agree on which one of us would be lucky enough to be the stay-at-home spouse.
According to CNN, this little fantasy of ours is actually reality for some couples out there! The "stay-at-home wife" is in fact, a status symbol showcasing the financial success and stability of the husband's career.

Quick post from iPhone. More later.
Sad about losing Manny. I was in the stands for his last game in a Red Sox uniform.
More sad about Quebec charging Jonathan Roy with assault. Sets a very bad precedent in my opinion.
Most sad about Brandon Moss being traded. I really liked that kid.
